Dr. Martin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Science Education at Clemson University. Her research focuses on social capital, with emphasis on the role of social capital in the personal and academic achievement of minority STEM students. She has extensive experience in social capital survey development. She is the recipient of the NSF CAREER Award in 2010 to study the Influence of Social Capital on Under-Represented Engineering Students’ Academic and Career Decisions.
